Sausage takes on a mature flavor

Australia's Sausage Software has a strong United States customer base, has developed relationships with large American companies, and has secured electronic commerce development arrangements with an Australian bank. Sausage has 800,000 customers in the United States and a 10-15% market share there in the World Wide Web site software market. America Online Inc. chose Sausage's HotDog Express as its web site start-up software. American microchip maker Intel Corp. took a 6% interest in Sausage. Australia's St. George Bank Ltd. took a 6% interest in Sausage, and the two will develop an electronic commerce system.

Telstra's master plan to capture new markets

Telstra Corp. intends to grow globally and, to reach its goals, it may wish to watch three other Australian companies with which it does business: Sausage Software Ltd., Solution 6, and Computershare. All three companies have an eye on expanding into the U.S. market. The common attributes all share are substantial local and international customer bases and highly-rated global technology. Sausage has an astonishing 10-15% of the world market for Internet web software; Solution 6 dominates the Australian accounting software market; Computershare is already the world's largest share registry.
