School drug-testing program upheld

The US Supreme Court ruled 6-3 in favor of a school district's right to compel students to take random drug tests in order to participate in scholastic athletics. Justice Antonin Scalia authored the opinion, which held that students' privacy rights are subordinated to anti-drug efforts.
