Securities brokerage industry
Article Abstract:
The securities brokerage industry will continue to suffer reduced revenue as long as interest rates continue to rise, and brokers will find it difficult to convince customers to invest in securities as long as short-term rates remain high. However, if any kind of capital gains tax cut is approved in 1995, the brokerage industry will be among the first to benefit, as companies seek to invest their windfalls.

Securities brokerage industry
Article Abstract:
High interest rates hurt the securities brokerage industry in 1994, giving its stock a low rating for timeliness. These conditions will carry over into part of 1995. On a more positive note, The Federal Reserve might soon end its policy of credit tightening, and talk of a capital gains tax cut could stimulate the industry. Securities stocks have a good 3- to 5-year yield potential.
