Senate passes health insurance reform
Article Abstract:
Provisions of a health insurance reform bill passed unanimously by the Senate would allow employees continued coverage in the event of a job loss or change and restrict the ways in which insurance companies deny coverage. The bill has some different provisions than one passed by the House.

House, Senate pass '96 interior funds

The House appropriated $12 billion for the Dept of Interior and its related activities, while the Senate appropriated $12.1 billion for FY 1996. Pres Clinton requested $13.8 billion. The House and Senate bills reflect the Republican social goals by reducing funding for social programs.
