Senate votes to curb investors' suits

Shareholders will now have a more difficult time suing brokers and corporations for fraud. The Senate voted 70 to 29 on Jun 28, 1995, to weaken stockholders' positions. Provisions of the bill are discussed, along with views of proponents and opponents.

Eritrea votes for independence
Article Abstract:
Voters in Eritrea passed a referendum on Apr 23-25, 1993, to become independent from Ethiopia. Over 98% of the eligible voters in Eritrea participated, and over 99% of those who voted supported independence.
