Affirmative action and the stigma of incompetence
Article Abstract:
Affirmative action has only proven detrimental to the very people it was supposed to help. Managers and office staff immediately perceive affirmative action hirees as less competent compared to recruits hired on merit thereby giving rise to a new form of discrimination. Therefore, it is imperative that organizations provide clear, objective public information regarding job qualifications and performance of individuals associated with affirmative action.
