Finland's Social Democratic Party won 28.3% of the vote in the Mar 19, 1995, elections, gaining 15 seats in the nation's parliament. The Center Party, which had been in power, won only 24.8% of the vote and lost 11 seats. The recession was the major issue in the campaign.

Fittipaldi wins Indianapolis 500

Emerson Fittipaldi won the Indianapolis 500 automobile race, held on May 30, 1993. Arie Luyendyk was second, and Nigel Mansell was third. Changes in the cars and the track made the race safer and more competitive.
