Solution-focused rating (SFR): new ways in performance appraisal

Evaluation and management of behavior and outcome in the workplace is done by performance appraisal, which is an ongoing process. The ways to bring a solutions focus to performance management are mentioned, and a novel and simple approach for building solutions talk within an appraisal interview is presented.

Competency management consists of a set of instruments describing what competencies are required in a certain job and how these competencies might be developed. Solution focused principles were applied in the process of developing competency management and its feedback is described.
