Location intelligence, a technique that combines map data and demographic data from the Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS), can be very helpful to retailers in finding a perfect location site to open a new store. Tony Dimasi, a consultant for Woolworths, finds the method very helpful by using both ABS data and MapInfo mapping software, as wrong positioning can bring misfortunes.
