Ten common information systems mistakes
Article Abstract:
Information systems professionals make mistakes in managing their organizations' information systems departments leading to considerable wastage in costs. The most common mistakes refer to insufficient funding, aversion to outsourcing, overestimation of the technological skills of information systems staff, inattention to user needs, hasty adoption of the latest technologies and naive systems development. Aversion to information systems investment evaluation and inconsistency between information technology policy and corporate strategies also lead to mismanagement of an organization's information systems. Organizations should allocate enough funds, time and personnel to make better information systems decisions.
