Success in musical theater is difficult to achieve despite the reputation of notable productions. For every Cats or Les Miserables, there are many shows that close within three weeks. Competition for the entertainment dollar is high, and with tickets that average A$60, bad word-of-mouth can finish a production. Musicals can require an initial investment of A$15 million.

NTL has busy program for the digital network
Article Abstract:
The National Transmission Network of Australia was bought by NTL, a British telecommunications company, for 650 million Australian dollars in 1999. NTL hopes to profit from the start of digital broadcasting in Australia in 2001.
