The contribution of clinical directors to the strategic capability of the organization
Article Abstract:
A study looking at a programme of training for clinical directors, within the UK National Health Service, found there was some confusion on how best to use clinical directors in a strategic role. Clinical directors on the new Trust Boards are likely to have strategic capability as part of their work. Clinical directors need to be trained to help increase and improve their participation in strategic management. Research into the work of clinical directors found although they were able to contribute to developing and managing the strategic capability of the organization many felt unprepared.

Strategic groups and the analysis of market structure and industry dynamics
Article Abstract:
Strategic groups research could potentially play a significant role in issues which are central to strategic management. Future research in areas including competitive and industry dynamics and industry evolution would be particularly beneficial. Strategy research should focus on a company's most highly relevant competitive conditions.
