Lenders' decision strategies and loan structure decisions

Article Abstract:

Loan structure is one of the most critical elements of the credit granting process, as it helps mold successful borrower-lender relationship. Contrary to popular beliefs, however, the design of loan structures adversely affects the lending process. Results derived from an analysis involving a sample of loan officers show that a negative correlation exists between loan structure restrictiveness and decision variables such as information search pattern and information evaluation period.

Article Abstract:

An investigation is made of the decision-making process and the paradigm of organizational design. The importance of present design paradigms is lessening in scope, as the nature of present and future organizations necessitates the use of a design paradigm that corresponds to the higher frequency and significance of the process of decision-making. Also, the decision-making model can be applied to those organizational environments that are complicated, unfriendly, and turbulent.
