Accountancy groups believe that the Australian government will not be able to meet its target of introducing eight new tax measures in 2002. They feel that the government's focus has shifted away from tax reform and that it is not putting pressure on the Australian Tax Office to address the planned measures. CAP Australia is calling for a better balance between indirect and direct taxation.
