The book 'Scott and Amundsen' by Roland Huntford was published in 1979, and revised in 1999 under the title 'The Last Place on Earth.' The work presents a slanted view of how the Norwegians defeated the British in the race to the South Pole. The redeeming points of both books are addressed.
