The value of the system engineering function in configuration control of a major technology project
Article Abstract:
Systems engineering has assumed a significant function in the execution of major projects particularly in the technological fields. A study was conducted to investigate the role played by systems engineering in the execution of large. technically sophisticated projects. Results indicate that the discipline plays a major part in three phases of a major project, namely, the early, definition phase; the change control function throughout project execution; and the project completion, verification and validation phase.
