Article Abstract:
Brown & Williamson Tobacco's BWT Direct plans to mail catalogs to thousands of customers to lure smokers into ordering cigarettes by phone, facsimile or mail. The British American Tobacco division hopes this will spur interest in their lesser brands, such as Tareyton. The company is using public databases to verify the age of customers.
