Updating our TQM thinking for a knowledge and service economy
Article Abstract:
A series of Knowledge Revolution driving rapid change in a globalizing economy that includes the Information and Communication revolution, the Genetic and Engineering revolution, the Long Cycle System revolution and other revolutions are presented. These 'new style' knowledge tools in turn are creating new types of jobs and activities and relationships and the implications of these changes for Total Quality Management (TQM) thinking are reviewed to illustrate the various challenges to TQM thinking and practices.
