Use of quality practices in manufacturing industries in Malaysia
Article Abstract:
Adoption of total quality management practices in Malaysia is expected to increase despite some difficulties. Malaysia lacks personnel with extensive experience in quality management and its implementation. Although less than one-quarter of companies have quality facilitators, a high percentage of firms are establishing their own quality practice, signalling rising corporate interest.

Quality is elusive without vertical systems
Article Abstract:
Vertical systems help solve quality management problems in several ways. They provide a defined beginning and end with specific steps, report results, offer a shorter return-on-investment cycle, remain constant through time and confine attention to the issue being examined. An example of a vertical system is charting, solving, implementing and moving to the next issue.
