US Air's Wolf gives Gangwal the CEO's job

Stephen M. Wolf, CEO and chairman of US Airways Group Inc., the airline holding company in Arlington, VA, will remain chairman of the firm while promoting Rakesh Gangwal to the CEO post. The two have adjoining offices at US Airways headquarters. No significant changes are expected, only an expansion of duties. The two have worked closely for years, bringing about a turnaround of US Airways during a difficult time.

Borg-Warner Security Corp. is expected to name Edwardson as president, CEO

When it appeared that John A. Edwardson wouldn't have the support of UAL's workers/owners in his bid for the CEO position, he resigned; now he is expected to become president and CEO of Borg-Warner Security Corp. Edwardson's plan to grow the 73,000-employee company includes acquisitions. The Chicago firm's 1998 revenue of $1.32 billion compares with UAL's $17.56 billion.
