Wheat body's new strain: the AWB is expanding, but earnings are under threat as old monopolies are challenged

The Dubbo-based Grain Growers Association in Australia, issued a report in September 2003, showing that competition for harvest finance had saved growers$50 million in the first three years of competition in the grain market, thus becoming the wheat body's new strain. The near-monopoly of AWB (the grain management and marketing group) on services to wheat growers is now under threat.
