Xerox Corp. to sell color inkjet printers
Article Abstract:
Xerox will announce two new color inkjet printers at the New York PC Expo. Xerox will be selling the printers through retailers which will put it into competition with other well established printer manufacturers. Hewlett-Packard Co. and Lexmark International Inc. will have the advantage, because they already dominate the printer supplies business where most of the profits are made. This will give Hewlett-Packard and Lexmark the funds to subsidize hardware price wars. One of the printers will be manufactured by Lexmark for Xerox under an original equipment agreement.
