Your organization needs an information ethics program!
Article Abstract:
The implementation of an information ethics program is a means by which companies can educate their employees about what constitutes ethical behavior concerning information. It is necessary because technological change has made it difficult for many individuals to define and develop a clear-cut ethical code concerning information. This shortcoming is attributable, in part, to the depersonalization brought about by electronic systems and the subsequent blurring of lines of ownership of information. Other key reasons are the collision of rights concerning information and the conflict between the need to communicate and the need to keep a secret. The roles played by these factors must carefully be considered if an information ethics program is to be successful. Guidelines for the development of such an ethics program include keeping the scope realistic and making it organization-specific.

Entrepreneur Bets on Training Entrepreneurs
Article Abstract:
Most entrepreneur training programs are dependent upon the quality of the teacher. A new approach, called New Enterprise Training for Profits (NET/PRO) has evolved a different concept, which uses an audiovisual and print material technique, provides consistent training on a low-cost, high volume basis. The program was started with a federal grant, and was tested by various local institutions throughout the country, where it proved to be highly successful. The program can be done in eight two hour sessions, and helps potential entrepreneurs get a feel for what is involved in planning, starting, and running their own business. Local non-profit groups have been leasing the rights to use the program in order to try and encourage local residents with a dream to become a vital and and economically contributing part of the local business community.

Manpower matters: overcoming professional skill shortages
Article Abstract:
What the British term "conversion courses", occupational training designed to develop employable skills in workers laid off from skilled labor positions, are deemed expedient, since the ability to forecast labor needs on a national scale is too complicated to be adequate. The British conversion courses are developed by educational institutions, government bodies and potential employers. An analysis of the success of conversion courses and the range of skills developed by these courses is provided.
