Why the PI policy is a necessity
Article Abstract:
Professional indemnity insurance protects architects against legal liability for loss, injury or damage to the client. Policies cover all claims made during the period of the policy, irrespective of when the work was done. Hence, insurance must be continued after retirement. When applying for insurance, architects must disclose all material facts that might affect the policy, including circumstances that may lead to a claim. Claims must be notified to the insurers immediately the are received and the insurers must be allowed control over the resulting case.

A big acquittal
Article Abstract:
Former Italian prime minister, Giulio Andreotti, has been acquitted of murder following a three-and-a-half year trial. It was alleged that he had ordered a journalist, Mino Pecorelli, to be murdered after Pecorelli had allegedly sought to blackmail Andreotti. Andreotti was congratulated publicly after his acquittal. He faces an additional charge of collusion with the Mafia, and may also be acquitted. The acquittal means that less weight is being given to former Mafia members who testify.
