Greece's history since gaining independence in the 1820s is quite mixed, both politically and economically. Prime Minister Constantine Mitsotakis must reform the nation's deficit-plagued economy, reform both political parties, and ally Greece with the European Economic Community.

The increasing range of military aircraft will render aircraft carriers useless, although submarines will remain useful in launching nuclear missiles. The shrinking role of navies will lead to the expanding operations for air forces. Armies will remain mostly unchanged.

The US and other democratic countries should maintain a sizeable nuclear arsenal, because countries such as Iraq have demonstrated the ability to produce nuclear weapons. Ground nuclear defenses should be developed until space-based defense systems become feasible.
