A force to be reckoned with
Article Abstract:
Ethnic minorities may encounter employment discrimination in the United Kingdom, and their unemployment rate is higher in London, England, than for the population as a whole. There may also be discrimination in the work place once people have found work. Employers may fail to take advantage of the skills offered by ethnic applicants, and the proportion of ethnic minorities in the population is set to increase. Cross-cultural awareness training and employment agencies that seek to help members of minorities are two ways of improving the situation.

Avoiding the revolving door
Article Abstract:
Companies may find it beneficial to conduct exit interviews with individuals who are leaving their employment. Identification of any basic staff problems through this means may prevent wastage of money on recruitment and training. Identification of any good points may benefit recruitment advertising. The two main challenges associated with exit interviews are persuading employees to give honest opinions and ensuring that interviews, and information obtained in them, form part of a constructive company policy.
