A linear algebraic formulation of the performance sensitivities of queueing networks
Article Abstract:
A linear algebraic formulation is used to explain the performance sensitivities of closed queueing networks with state-dependent service rates. The results showed that minute deviations in parameters will induce similar changes in the sample path of queueing networks. The networks behave much like linear systems so a solution can be found using linear combinations. However, the complexity of the equations limit the applications of the process.

The heavy-traffic bottleneck phenomenon under splitting and superposition
Article Abstract:
The study proposes a new decomposition approximation method for open queueing networks based on the variability function and the innovations method. Results of a numerical experiment indicate that the proposed approach approximates the expected waiting time at the bottleneck with about 8 percent relative errors as compared to the 40-80 percent relative errors shown by others.

Performance models of proxy cache server: the impact of multimedia traffic
Article Abstract:
A multi - class queuing network model to study the impact of multimedia traffic on the overall response times to web requests for cases with or without a proxy cache server (PCS) is proposed. It is shown that the required time to travel through the client network represents the dominant factor of overall response times.
