Commercial banks in Canada are increasing their efforts to capture the attention of children and their parents. Saving programs for children usually involve products and services that are designed for the children as well as sales and marketing directed to the parents who are really the ones behind the banking activities of the children. Royal Bank in Toronto, for one markets its children savings program through parenting magazines and other adult-oriented materials.

Public relations (PR) jobs for pharmaceutical companies is not an easy task. Several factors have to be considered by PR agencies to influence consumers to use a specific drug. First is the medical jargon that has to be understood by the consuming public. Second, PR agencies should also have a good background in legalese, which makes health-care communications very different. Third, the information that is presented should be completely accurate.

New twists on the plain old magazine ad
Article Abstract:
Magazines have become the medium of choice of a number of manufacturers for their advertising campaigns because of their tightly focused readerships. Emerging trend in magazine advertising is the use of two- dimensional ads out of a flat page. This strategy was used by Microsoft Corp in its Windows 98 launch advertsing campaign which came out in several Canadian periodicals. The same type of ads was used by perfume manufacturer, Chanel.
