A missed chance
Article Abstract:
Italy's attempt to reform the government may yet turn out a miserable failure as the concepts being used to draft the new constitution are based on the old concepts. The parliamentary 'bicamerale' is supposed to introduce federalism, alter the power of the president and the prime minister, administer new electorial laws and reform the judicial system but the proposals of the 'bicamerale' only complicates the political system that Italy may find itself with a more complicated political system than originally planned.

Article Abstract:
The new constitution being planned in Italy does not address the needs for executive, judicial and constitutional reforms. An analysis of the policies being planned reveals that they are based on the same principles that were earlier rebuked. The country's governing political parties seem reluctant to set aside their own interests as the proposals in the draft features reforms that are not radical enough to push reform.
