A multi-objective model for locating fire stations
Article Abstract:
A multiple criteria modeling approach was created to determine ideal locations for fire-station facilities. The model illustrates a case in which the city assesses potential sites in 31 sub-areas that would serve these sub-areas in the year 2005. It takes into account multiple objectives that integrate travel times and travel distances from stations to demand sites. Application of the model to real-life fire-station location problem emphasized the significance of long-term planning and careful consideration of objective functions when formulating strategic decisions involving fire-station locations.

A new generic model for applying MAUT
Article Abstract:
A new generic model for preferences is proposed with the objective of providing a standard methodology that can be utilized for decision making under multiple criteria and uncertainty. The generic tool is aimed at non-specialists such as engineers and managers who will be able to apply the multi-attribute utility theory without having to become specialists first. A case study demonstrates the method.
