A new production plant of Schneider Electric
Article Abstract:
Schneider Electric (SE) (Pisek, Czech Republic), electromechanical device manufacturer, has built a new plant in Pisek. The investment costs on the plant's construction including technology were 500 mil Kc. The new plant has 350 employees during two-shift operation. The majority of the plant's production is intended for exports. The firm increased its sales by 35% in 1998 compared to 1996. SE is a part of the global group Groupe Schneider (France). In the Czech Republic, the firm has two shopping centres in Prague and Brno, the plant in Pisek and an administration and distribution centre in Pisek.

New production premises of ABB Service Ostrava
Article Abstract:
ABB Service Ostrava (Ostrava, Czech Republic), electrotechnical repair firm, has commissioned a new production hall with an area of nearly 6,000 sq mt. The cost on the construction amounted to 33 mil Kc. The hall has 100 employees. The firm is involved in the production of coils up to 6kV, commutators and ring head. It ensures the repairs and re-winding of direct-current motors up to 1,000 V and alternating-current motors up to 16 kV. ABB Service Ostrava was set up as a 50:50 joint venture of ABB and Elektronavijarna Vitkovice (Czech Republic) on 08 November 1997.
