A real alternative to the hassles of a float?
Article Abstract:
Many small business owners in the UK could derive considerable benefit from using other people's money to crystallise part of the shareholder value already generated and to allow the rest of the value to expand. Taking this approach is very similar to the flotation process for larger companies. It also recognises that increasing shareholder value, rather than boosting profits or market share, is the key element in the long-term success of a company.

A good deal of knowledge
Article Abstract:
Northern UK small to medium-sized business deals have benefited from the high quality of management and financial advise on offer from locally based firms. Investors need to focus on the long-term outcome of an investment, by ensuring the quality of professional advise is high. A higher rate of investment return is more likely to result where the advise of a professional has been sought in conjunction with a takeover or merger activity.

Article Abstract:

Long-term planning is made easier if government tax policy has a central theme although good corporate strategies concentrate on increasing company value regardless of future government policy.
