A river of asphalt
Article Abstract:
US Highway 84 travels through open prairie after it leaves Lubbock, Texas, and narrows when it reaches New Mexico. Car crashes cause many fatalities in the US, and drunk driving causes problems in New Mexico. Investment in roads involves dealing with a number of bodies including railroad companies and Native American pueblos. Highway 84 moves up into the mountains toward Colorado and houses become richer in Colorado itself. Highway 84 joins another road at Pagosa Springs, Colorado.
