A spree a day keeps recession at bay
Article Abstract:
US consumption is likely to reach record levels in Dec 1998, and consumer confidence recovered in Nov 1998 after a drop since a peak in Jun 1998. Consumer spending continued to rise after Jun 1998. Consumption has helped boost economic growth and has been linked to higher personal incomes, but this could change if unemployment rises. The US savings ratio turned negative in Sep 1998, but rising stock prices have increased personal wealth. Consumption could be hit if stock prices fall.

It's not the middle of nowhere - It's the Minervas
Article Abstract:

Once cruisers find their way into the large lagoons at the Minerva Reefs, the water's just right for swimming and for exploring the shipwrecks.
