A symphony in gamma major
Article Abstract:
Astronomers are examining data from the Beppo-SAX satellite, launched in 1996 with a gamma ray detector attached, and are trying to determine if gamma ray bursts occur within this galaxy or are more distant events. The opinion now is that they are distant events but proof is elusive.

What in heaven? Gamma-ray burst
Article Abstract:
Gamma ray bursts appear even spaced over the sky. They last no more than a couple of minutes at the most. Many theories as to the source have been proposed. Even with the Gamma Ray Observatory satellite, astronomers are still baffled by the bursts.
