A wild way to fly
Article Abstract:
Miami International Airport has been affected by a scandal relating to smuggling of drugs and guns, which has led to catering staff and baggage handlers being charged. This investigation also led to questions on security standards at the airport. Political cronyism and bureaucratic mismanagement have emerged as problems after the investigation went more deeply. A panel is to assess whether the airport should cease to be controlled by the government, and there is a move to tackle the problem of political meddling.
