ALGERIA: APPEAL FOR WATER CIVILS CONTRACT IN BATNA

Tenders will have until 12 March 2001 to submit offers concerning a water civil engineering contract in the city of Batna, Algeria. The contract includes the works for the rehabilitation of the water supply for 200,000 inhabitants, and the operational management of the purifying station for a mandate of 5 years.

AUSTRIA: CONSTRUCTION OUTPUT UP 3.5% IN 2000
Article Abstract:
Statistik Austria reports that in year 2000 Austria's construction output increased by 3.5% to Sch 138.3bn. The figure does not include ancillary building services. Building construction increased 4.6% and civil engineering 1.3%. Road construction, which accounts for about one-third of civil engineering output, was down 6.3% from 1999. Water engineering saw a 24.3% fall. Public construction declined 0.7% and accounted for 35% of total construction output.
