ARM Holdings' pretax profit soars 79%

ARM Holdings PLC posted an improvement of 79% in its pretax profits for the six month period ending on June 30, 1999. However, the company did not have much good news in terms of new customers and alliances. ARM posted 7 million pound sterling (10.7 million euros) in pretax profits for the first-half. During the same period in 1998, the semiconductor designer posted 3.9 million pound sterling.
