AUSTRIA: AGREEMENT ON TELEKOM BUSINESS PLAN
Article Abstract:
The supervisory board of Telekom Austria has approved the business plan of the former telecoms monopoly, paving the way for the company's launched on the stock exchange. The company's shares are to be introduced on the Vienna and New York stock exchanges in November 2000. The business plan is based on the assumption that Telekom Austria, in which Telecom Italia holds a minority stake, will return to black figures in 2001, making a small profit. For year 2000 Telekom expects a loss of more than Sch 3bn, as the result is burdened by the cost of staff cuts.
