Austria: AUA to give Lauda Air cash injection
Article Abstract:
It has been confirmed that Austrian Airlines (AUA) is to give its subsidiary Lauda Air a cash injection of more than Sch 1bn. AUA's financial director estimates that saving Lauda Air will be less expensive for AUA than if the company allowed its subsidiary to go bankrupt because AUA has taken over some of Lauda Air's liabilities. The cash injection is expected to be authorised at an AUA board meeting on 12 November 2001.
