Article Abstract:
It is rumoured that the European monopolies and mergers commission will allow Austrian Airlines (AUA) to join the Star Alliance group of airlines, and share flights between Germany and Austria with Lufthansa. The commission had been worried that a monopoly on flights between Germany and Austria would emerge, but as Slovenian carrier Adria Airways flies between Frankfurt and Vienna, and Dutch carrier KLM flies the route between Stuttgart and Vienna, its fears were unfounded.
