AUSTRIA: BERGLANDMILCH'S GROWTH TARGETS

In 2001 Austria's largest dairy, Berglandmilch aims to reach a turnover of Sch 8bn, up from Sch 7.42bn in 2000, when pre-tax profit fell by almost a half to Sch 26.9mn. The decline is attributed to the closing of the Desserta factory in Graz.

In the first half of 2001 the Austrian dairy group NOM saw a 18% increase in group turnover to Sch 2.02bn. Profit on ordinary activities rose from Sch 25.7mn to Sch 39.2mn.
