AUSTRIA: UTA, LION.CC COOPERATE IN E-COMMERCE
Article Abstract:
Austrian fixed-line communication and Internet provider UTA is in "serious" cooperation talks with Lion.cc, the online subsidiary of the insolvent Libro group. The cooperation should start before the Christmas business, but involve no capital links. UTA's subsidiary Netway could cooperate with Lion.cc with regard to the Internet portal and e-commerce logistics. Initially, products such as books and CDs could be offered. With regard to further takeover speculations, UTA head Romed Karre emphasised that the company is on a consolidation course, unless very good opportunities should arise.
