AUSTRIA: OPTIMISM IN DUTY-FREE SALES IN VIENNA
Article Abstract:
A recovery is expected in duty-free sales at Vienna Airport in year 2001. This follows a fall from Sch 133mn in 1998 to Sch 103mn in 1999 and Sch 74mn in 2000. The loss of business due to the end of duty-free sales of cigarettes and alcohol from mid-1999 was compensated partly by increased sales in regular shops at the airport.
