AUSTRIA: THE BIGGEST FRANCHISE CHAINS

In 2000, the number of franchisees in Austria rose by 8% to about 4,200. The 305 franchise systems operating in Austria generated a combined turnover of Sch 30bn in 2000. The biggest franchise groups were Palmers with 180 franchisees, followed by Quelle (161), OMV AG (150), Foto Quelle (145), Skiny (110), Olymp Vertrieb (110), Snowell Int. (87), Street One (80), Skribo (71), Actual (70) and McDonald's (70).

Austria: OMV recognised in stock exchange prizes
Article Abstract:
At the annual prize-giving of the Austrian Association for Financial Analysis and Investment Advice (OVFA), oil company OMV won the stock exchange prize. The OVFA takes into account the quality and accessibility of annual and quarterly reports, the level of information given by the company to shareholders and the accuracy of predicted results.
