The $435 million public-to-private of corporate security group Kroll O'Gara will allow Kroll Associates to return to its core competence and to improve understanding of its activities. Blackstone Capital Partners is set to support management in its $359 million bid, with Chase being the lead arranger on a $250 million high yield issue. The deal has been approved by US anti-trust authorities, and is due to be finalized at the beginning of Apr 2000. Kroll has announced a matrix management structure in line with its counterparts in law and investment banking.

Forming the Longville Group

The Royal Bank of Scotland Leveraged Finance Team in Birmingham, England, supported buyin candidate Eric Hook in the 83 million pounds sterling IBO that led to the creation of Longville Group. This deal involved the simultaneous purchase of SLD Pumps, Chiller Rental Services and SLD Genlite. Institutional equity for the transaction was supplied by NatWest Equity Partners, while Royal Bank of Scotland Leveraged Finance led the provision of acquisition debt. AIB Capital Markets acted as co-underwriting bank.

Denby Group opts to go back to the private life
Article Abstract:
Homeware manufacturer Denby Group returned to private ownership in Jun 1999 following a 50 million pounds sterling public to private management buyout deal. Institutional equity was provided by Phildrew Ventures, while Bank of Scotland Structured Finance led the deal as arranger. Royal Bank of Scotland completed the financing. This deal was the second deal worth more than 50 million pounds sterling for Royal Bank of Scotland Leveraged Finance in the East Midlands in 1999.
