Compact solution
Article Abstract:
Birmingham International has purchased a briquette compactor system from waste management specialist KK Balers to handle to bulk cardboard waste generated by retail and catering areas of the airport. The compactor system was able to reduce waste volume by more than 20 to 1, thereby cutting down the airport's required constant and costly removal and waste disposal. The airport disposes the compact briquettes at a nearby mill where some costs are retrieved by the sale of recycling materials.
