Air France lays plans for Alitalia

Air France KLM S.A. announced its intentions for Italy's troubled air carrier Linee Aeree Italiane S.p.A. (Alitalia), should it get clearance from the Italian government to purchase 100% of the airline. The plan includes delisting the airline and refleeting it. Air France KLM anticipates the process will require approximately 3 bil euro over a five- to six-year timeframe.

Aeroflot's pullout dents auction for Alitalia stake

Aeroflot Russian Airlines has withdrawn from the bidding for Alitalia Linee Aeree Italiane S.p.A., along with its financial partner, the Italian bank UniCredit S.p.A. The Russian carrier has stated that it had not been given access to crucial information regarding Alitalia's operational and commercial management.
