Air-cargo customers complain about carriers' surcharges

A worldwide investigation has been launched into price fixing by air-cargo services, after complaints from some customers that carriers have raised their rates without reason. Offices were raided by regulators in the United States, Europe and Asia. The investigations focuses on surcharges for security and fuel.

The European Union is encouraging Antitrust Commissioner Neelie Kroes to charge Intel Corp. with unfair competition. Competitor Advanced Micro Devices Inc. filed a complaint with the European Union over six years ago, saying Intel illegally stifles competition in the computer- chip industry.
