Air drop on Bosnia

The plan to drop humanitarian aid by plane could lead the US to more decisive action to stop the civil war. The relief effort may provoke retaliation against UN peacekeeping troops and planes may be fired upon. If troops are injured the US may increase actions.

Pres Clinton wants to bring much need food and supplies to suffering Bosnians, so he has approved a military airlift operation there. The international community hopes there will be the same US commitment when the time comes to help enforce a peace plan.
